Natick, a town resting within the Middlesex County of Massachusetts had a population of 32,170 according to the 2000 census.

The city is warmly recognized by its residents as the Home of Champions, recalling the presentation of the cities firefighting squad at the 1891 National Hook and Ladder competition.

The town name Natick created from the speech of the Indian family identified as the Massachusett, meaning "place of hills." The first community, which lays on the southern face of Natick, is an undulating region. That part of the community is labeled "South Natick," but is not a divided public body.

Natick was initially established in 1651 by a man named John Eliot, who developed a unit of "Praying Indians" on opposite parts of the Charles River and was formally incorporated in 1781.
